Hillwood College Kandy is one of the oldest schools in Kandy. One of the main pioneers who contributed to this school was the first Principal of the school. Miss Bellerby dedicated her entire life building and making an endless effort to glamour the name Hillwood in Ceylon also in international borders.
The need arose to have a girls’ boarding school or similar lines so that the educated boys of Trinity could choose educated girls as their wives. With this need, Hillwood College Kandy was evolved. The school that started with seven students now cater more than two thousand students at present
